Sea Salt Scrub

Sea salt scrubs are a classic in the world of beauty and cosmetics. It's super easy to make yourself, 100% natural.

This recipe is really simple, you can make your own scrub in 5 minutes.

So what do we need?

*Sea salt
I chose some supermarket bought sea salt, with a grain size of about 2-4mm. You can also use dead sea salt or other salts with a bigger grain size. Note that the size of your grains will impact the effect of your scrub. Bigger grains will be more powerful, while smaller grains are a bit softer on the skin.
*oil

You can use a variety of oils, vegetable oils like sunflower or olive oil, or if you're going for something a tad more expensive you can chose sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
*2-3 drops of essential oil (optional)

*a glass jar or plastic container

Start by putting the desired amount of salt in your container. You can go for a big batch that will last a while or make some last minute scrub before you get in the shower/tub. The oil/salt ratio should be about 1 to 3. If you want to use essential oil, it's easiest to add it to the oil before you mix it with the salt, to ensure the scent spreads evenly. Add the oil to the salt and mix it a little to make sure it's an even mixture. I added some eucalyptus essential oil to my scrub to give it that fresh and energizing touch.

How do we use it?
Use a spoon to get the scrub out of your jar. This way you'll keep your hands and water out of the mixture, extending the scrubs shelf life. Get out of the tub or turn of your shower for a while and get scrubbing. You can spread the scrub on your skin using you hands, a washing cloth or if you're going for super scrub powers, a loofah. Once you're done you can wash of the salt with just water. This way you'll leave a bit of the oil on your freshly scrubbed skin for extra softness.
